Duncan MacDougall

Duncan MacDougall joined the PLF board in 2023 and is the current Parks and Recreation Services Manager at Hamilton City Council. 

Duncan’s interest in public open spaces piqued during a summer work experience deadheading roses at the Hamilton Gardens. He pursued his passion for horticulture and earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Landscape Management from Massey University. For the past 11 years he has worked in various parks and recreation roles around the Waikato, with a primary focus on open spaces planning and operations planning.

As a former steering group member of Generate, Duncan is passionate about promoting the parks and recreation industry as a career option and mentoring newcomers.
