In February 2025, the Parks Leaders Forum released a report commissioned from the AERU at Lincoln University on The Economic Value of Parks: A Framework and Preliminary Estimate.

 

In this webinar, the report’s lead author, Dr Paul Dalziel, described the framework and explained the main results. He showed how its distinctive approach of modelling park visitors as producers of wellbeing (rather than as consumers of nature) could be applied at a local government level, using Tauranga City Council’s network of parks to illustrate the information that is required.
