Estimating the Economic Value of Parks: A National Study and Tauranga Application
About the Webinar
In February this year, the Parks Leaders Forum released a report commissioned from the AERU at Lincoln University on The Economic Value of Parks: A Framework and Preliminary Estimate. In this webinar, the report’s lead author , Dr Paul Dalziel, will describe the framework and explain the main results. He will then show how its distinctive approach of modelling park visitors as producers of wellbeing (rather than as consumers of nature) can be applied at a local government level, using Tauranga City Council’s network of parks to illustrate the information that is required. There will be time for questions from participants in the webinar.
