Parks Leaders Forum Awards

The Parks Leaders Forum recognises excellence, innovation, and effectiveness within the parks sector. 

The awards:

Papatūānuku Outstanding Parks Leader

This award recognises significant achievement and service to the Parks industry and contribution to the ongoing development of the industry. The award is recognition for sustained industry leadership that makes a significant different to the art, science and practise of the parks industry.

The Papatūānuku Outstanding Parks Leader was not awarded this year 

Emerging Leader Scholarship

This scholarship supports the professional development of an emerging parks leader, to be spent on a significant learning opportunity relevant to the Parks operating space. The scholarship includes a one-year internship with the PLF Board as a non-voting intern. This scholarship also includes free registration to Parks Leaders Form member meetings and field trips. This year's scholarship is $2500.

We're proud to announce that the 2025 Park Leader Scholarship was won by Samantha Strong of Thrive Spaces and Places. Congratulations to Sam!

 

Te wao tapu nui a Tāne Outstanding Parks Team Award 

The purpose of this award is to recognise genuine collaboration and community engagement in a parks setting, including the ongoing positive impact of work on those communities.

The winner will be announced in December of this year.
