National Park Service using humour to educate

The National Park Service in the U.S. have become a hit on social media with their humorous posts of tips for visiting their parks. Often going viral, these tips are providing general and safety advice through pop culture references and dad jokes, to help get their messages across by making them more relatable.

According to Tara Feel, a professor at Colorado State University studying social interactions between humans and wildlife, more people are wanting to get closer to wildlife without realising the dangers that come with this.

The National Park Service is hoping these witty messages help inspire members of the public to get outdoors more and visit their national parks while also being educated on how to keep themselves and the animals safe.
