The PLF has a few updates to share with our membership.
Lincoln University Professional Development Day.
We are partnering with Lincoln University to offer a chance to refresh your knowledge of the parks sector through attending taster sessions from their Master of Parks Management on Thursday 28th August 2025. The Lincoln campus has also just finished a long period of redevelopment and is looking spectacular, so we invite you to join us! This is also an alumni event, so a great chance to catch up with others who studied parks and rec at Lincoln back in the day. Parks Leaders Awards
This year, the Parks Leaders Forum is offering THREE awards: Emerging Leader Scholarship, Outstanding Parks Leader and a new Outstanding Team Award. We created the Team award in response to feedback that great leaders are nothing without a great team! Details of all three awards are attached, with applications due 30 July.
Updated Constitution
Like all other non-profits out there, we have refreshed our constitution to bring it in line with the Incorporated Societies Act (2022) and took the opportunity to make a few other tweaks as well. Please find attached a summary of the changes made, and the new constitution. We are keen for your feedback, also due 30 July to convenor@plf.org.nz
I liked how this post kept things simple and didn’t try to sound overly smart about it. The pacing felt natural, and the little examples made it easier to connect the dots without getting lost. Halfway through I clicked around https://newimage.io/ out of curiosity, and it gave me the same kind of “straight to the point” feel—nothing distracting, just the stuff you’re actually looking for. What helped me most here was how everything’s split into bite-sized chunks, so you can skim for a minute and still pick up the main idea. Also, the page doesn’t feel cluttered when you scroll, and the headings are spaced out enough that you always know where you are in the layout.

Vừa vào là thấy trang làm khá thoáng mắt, nền nã nên lướt một cái không bị “ngợp”. Mình để ý họ chia nội dung thành từng khối rõ ràng, kéo xuống là biết ngay phần nào đang nói về gì, không phải đoán. Cái mình thích nữa là chữ với khoảng cách nhìn dễ chịu, nên xem trên màn hình điện thoại cũng ổn, không bị rối. Mình chỉ cần vậy thôi để làm quen, vì thanh menu đặt dễ thấy và các khối nội dung trên trang tách bạch khá…
