Let's Play! Kāpiti's revamped playground ranked number 1

Play is so important for our tamariki and providing appropriate, interactive play opportunities is important for the development of our children. Kāpiti Coast District Council recently won Playground of the Year with its newly updated Lorna Irene Drive Reserve playground in Raumati South. With a focus on inclusive play and accessibility, this new playground aims to provide fun for the everyone, regardless of any cognitive or physical disability! The playground, which was completed in February, includes New Zealand's first wheelchair seesaw, other wheelchair-accessible equipment including a roundabout and tower, sensory play opportunities, and a safe space for all to enjoy.
